Maths Tuition

I provide bespoke mathematics tuition for:

• KS3 (Years 7-9);
• KS4 (Years 10 & 11) – i.e., GCSE, iGCSE & Scottish National 5;
• KS5 (Years 12 & 13) – i.e., A-Level, Scottish Higher and Advanced Higher;
• University-Level Engineering Mathematics
• Sessions on Exam Taking Skills, Time Management Skills & Independent Learning Skills

Since the majority of tuition that I offer is online, my availability and hours are very flexible.

Although I am definitely available during the times listed below, I can also make myself available so that you can have a lesson during your ‘homework time’ or your independent study period / free period (if you are a Sixth Former / Uni student).

In other words, with prior agreement you can have a lesson at a mutually-convenient time that is not restricted to the traditional school day (especially, if you are a Sixth Former).

My normal rates for a one-hour session reflect my extensive experience as an educator & Senior Examiner and are:

• £32 for up to including GCSE-Level or Scottish National 5 (N5);
• £42 for up to and including A-Level, Scottish Higher and Advanced Higher;
• £67 for Further Mathematics; and,
• £32 per session for Exam Taking Skills, Time Management Skills & Independent Learning Skills.

My online maths tuition is available to students worldwide. The majority of students are based in the UK.

I am happy to deliver face to face tuition within a 10 mile radius of my house in Birmingham, West Midlands.

I have been teaching maths for over 30 years and am happy to accommodate students with special educational needs. I have delivered maths tuition to student with Dyslexia, ADHD, Asperger’s Syndrome and other special needs.

Please bear in mind I do charge for cancellations. Pre-planned holidays notified in advance would not be charged for.

This very much depends on the student  and what they are trying to achieve.After my first tuition session, I will be able to advise on the best course for the student. It may be they only have a gap in knowledge that needs filling or they could possibly need a full course of revision for the whole syllabus.

There are a variety of reasons why you might consider getting a maths tutor. Below are some of the most common reasons.

1. Lack of confidence in their maths : Some children lose confidence in their ability or fall out of love with learning. Tutoring can help your child gain confidence and enjoy the subject again.

8. The school suggests tutoring : Some teachers may advise parents that their child would benefit from private maths tuition. The extra support can help the student meet their full potential.
